martha is a board certified wellness coach (nbc-hwc) and creative director who incorporates yoga, sound healing, reiki, breathwork, meditation, and herbalism into her work.

her depth of experience has led her to facilitating workplace wellness retreats for nike in los angeles, attending yoga and reiki trainings in indonesia, and appearing on times square billboards for athleta.

rooted in conscious living and the principle of ahimsa (non-harm) everything she does is in service of a more sustainable, peaceful world for all.

when she’s not working with coaching clients, you can find martha leading world-class creative projects, camping under the stars, or chasing her next adventure across the world — and lately, deep in the forest studying herbalism & sipping matcha at coffee shops across the pacific northwest.

what makes martha different?

martha was born at home in a tiny blue house in rural south dakota — the middle child of five, growing up low income with divorced parents, constantly moving from state to state. she was raised vegetarian, living a holistic, alternative lifestyle close to nature. from a young age she innately took on the role of caretaker, something that deepened when her father fought health issues ultimately resulting in a heart transplant. alongside all of it, anxiety and depression lived quietly inside of her.

at seven, she found her anchor — dance, circus arts, and yoga. she didn't have language for somatic practice yet, she just knew it was where she felt immense joy and freedom. homeschooled for most of her childhood, she learned early to trust herself and figure things out on her own. when she had the chance to go to a newly opened performing arts high school for dance, she decided to skip eighth grade, graduating high school at sixteen. she moved out and started fully supporting herself at seventeen through jobs and internships. she graduated college at twenty with a degree in strategic communication, environmental studies, and design — she had big dreams of becoming a purpose-driven creative director in los angeles.

at twenty one, she drove an old duct-taped car from minneapolis to los angeles with no connections and no safety net. within a year she landed at nike corporate, spending five years leading the west coast digital brand creative team — launching @nikela, working with world-class athletes and artists, producing creative at the highest possible level. by every external measure, she'd made it. but with the demanding workload that required her entire life force, the anxiety got louder.

at twenty six, she took a mental health leave, flew to indonesia, and completed a 200-hour yoga teacher training. what followed was a new lifelong education: sound healing, reiki, herbalism, trauma-informed wellness, breathwork, meditation. when she could no longer ignore her intuition, she quit her dream job and bet on herself. that was six years ago.

since then she's built two businesses from scratch, made over half a million dollars freelancing as a creative director, and worked with nike, lululemon, vogue, athleta, and more, on campaigns that have come to life on times square, @nike, and in the pages of the new york times.

she's become a board-certified health and wellness coach, traveled through 25 countries, chosen herself over the wrong relationships, lived nomadically while working remote, moved cities, and built a life entirely on her own terms.

she has lived everything she teaches, and creative by nature was built from all of it, the hardship and the hustle, the heartbreak and the healing, the road blocks and the successes.

words of affirmation ꩜

“it has been such an honor being able to work with martha on the creative coaching process, she is literally heaven sent and came at such a tough time in my life. I cannot thank her enough. the pillars that she built her programs foundation on were substantial to me because we as society tend lose a grasp on the internal because we are so worried about the external. martha helps address all of those internal needs. i highly recommend martha to anyone out there looking to better their lives on all levels." — jay ford, creative director & filmmaker, los angeles, california

"having someone like martha as a creative coach was a gift. her professional resume coupled with her empathetic and encouraging energy was the type of coach i didn't know i needed in my corner. each session steered me towards deeper meaning and clarity. she kept me accountable with assignments in between sessions that grew towards a larger, sustainable vision. if you're looking for coaching that is collaborative, thoughtful, and energizing, i can't recommend her enough." — taylor casas, dancer & movement director, new york

"working with martha was amazing. i can be pretty skeptical about coaching, but martha’s extensive career experience, connection to dance/yoga/mental health, and way of viewing life was refreshing. as a creative, i can have many ideas but often have trouble turning them into action. i can confidently say my goals i set with martha were met by the end. thank you for your mind, martha!" — jennifer mika, dancer & content creator, los angeles, california
